Colossians 1:17: He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Pastor Sumpter has said it all: Jesus is enough. If you have Jesus, you have everything you could ever want, more than you could ever need.
If you have Jesus, you have knowledge of the will of God and spiritual wisdom. You are able to walk in a manner pleasing to the Lord; you are made fruitful. If you have Jesus, you become steadfast and patient, and you are being prepared for the inheritance that God has for His bright stars and holy ones.
And if you are at this table, receiving bread and wine, you have Jesus. Through His Spirit, the Father gives His Son to you. The icon of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, the Creator and reconciler of all things, the head of the body, the firstborn from the dead, the one who is first in everything, the one in whom the fullness dwells – that Jesus gives Himself to you here.
You receive everything when you receive this bread and wine, because you receive Jesus. Take, eat.
