A friend and fellow alum who is getting his Ph.D. in astrophysics writes in response : “So, this is the reverse of things like the Poynting vector , which points in the direction of propogation of light, or the Heaviside function , which heavily weights one side of a function. These were invented by Mr. Poynting and Mr. Heaviside.”

Unlike Secular Humanism, which, to reiterate, was not invented by Mr. Hume.
