Abram’s exodus again

In response to my earlier post about Walsh’s analysis of Abram’s exodus in Genesis 12, a friend, Kelly Kerr, sent along the following outline of Gen. 12:4-13:18:

A.  a1. Abram departs Haran (12:4)

a2. Abram, Lot, and all their possessions and people acquired while in Haran (12:5a)

a3. Abram passes through Canaan (12:5b-6a)

a4. Abram came to Shechem, to the oak of Moreh (12:6b)

a5. Yahweh speaks to Abram concerning the land (12:7a)

a6. Abram builds an altar at Shechem (12:7b)

B.  Abram travels to Bethel/Negeb (12:8-9)

C.  Abram goes down to Egypt (12:10)

D.  d1. Abram tells Sarai to say she is his sister (12:11-14)

d2. Pharaoh takes Sarai (12:15-16)

E.  Yahweh intervenes and sends plagues (12:17)

D’. d1’. Pharaoh asks why Abram said Sarai was his sister (12:18-19a)

d2’. Pharaoh gives Sarai back (12:19b-20)

C’.  Abram goes up from Egypt (13:1a)

B’.  Abram travels to Negeb/Bethel (13:1b)

A’. a1’. Abram departs Negeb with spoil (13:2-4)

a2’. Abram and Lot separate because of all their possessions and people (13:5-11)

a3’. Abram settles in Canaan (13:12-13)

a5’. Yahweh speaks to Abram concerning the land (13:14-17)

a4’. Abram comes to Hebron, to the oaks of Mamre (13:18a)

a6’. Abram builds an altar at Hebron (13:18b)
