Of interest to some of you: the Patterson Triennial Conference for the Orthodox-Roman Catholic Dialogue, titled Orthodox Constructions of the West . It is being held at Fordham University in the Bronx from June 28th to 30th. The first conference was held in 2007, and the papers are being published by St. Vladimir’s Press as Orthodox Readings of St. Augustine .
Those interested will want to read the abstract , which may annoy some Orthodox in its somewhat sweeping description. I would have put “some” before “Orthodox” in the sentence “The ‘West,’ thus, represents a cluster of theological, cultural and political ideas against which Orthodox self-identify,” for example.
