Run Bobby Run

Yeah, I know Jindal has endorsed Perry.  But he just won a crushing reelection in Louisiana.  He has a record as a spending cutter who can maintain core government services.  He know health care policy.  He is conversant on national issues.  He is a competent and energetic executive. He gets good notices from the populist conservative media (Limbaugh especially likes him.)  He could be a real reformer with “real conservative” authenticity credentials.  Some folks are talking up a Jindal run.

And maybe they should.  There is huge hole where the anti-Romney should be.  In fact, Romney doesn’t do that good a job of filling up the compentence/electability/conservative enough space.  Bachmann and Cain have each rocketed to the first-tier based on free media despite their drawbacks.  Perry got to first place in the polls just by announcing he was running for President and the resulting media attention.  If Jinal announces on Monday, he is polling in the top-tier by Veterans Day.  It probably isn’t going to happen.  But it’s like this thing I read.  Despair isn’t the problem.  I can handle despair.  It’s the hope that’s killing me.
