I do sense an authenticity problem or two. It’s my experience, for example, that the great thing about living in a small southern town is that people DO think they have plenty of time to sit around and have stupid arguments. (That’s the wonderful remnant of aristocratic leisure.) And I’m not sure how common the comment is that the main thing Congress needs to be doing is compromising more with the president.
