A new weblog for those who want to keep up with events at the U.N., events with which anyone concerned for the world has, alas, to keep up: Turtle Bay and Beyond , published by the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, C-Fam . As the “About” note says:
Turtle Bay and Beyond is a blog covering international law, policy and institutions. Our experts – at the UN, European Institutions, and elsewhere – explore an authentic understanding of international law, sovereignty, and the dignity of the human person. We expose those who would seek to impose a radical social vision that is contrary to these principles.
Among the recent stories, for example, is one on Norway’s hostility to religion and, ironically, to women’s health when it conflicts with what the country’s government thinks “women’s rights,” a.k.a. abortion, and another on the U.N.’s dislike of the reality of national sovereignty because it gets in the way of advancing their causes. Many of the posts include original documents from the U.N. and links to other important articles and texts.
A very helpful blog indeed.
