This is a good news story I have been meaning to post for a week. There is an old Jewish saying, “When you save a life, you save the world.” If that is so, my wonderful friend and executive director of the CBC, Jennifer Lahl, has saved the world.
Last week, Jennifer and her husband Dan were celebrating their wedding anniversary at their favorite restaurant. Suddenly, a diner at another table keeled over and fell out of her chair. She wasn’t breathing. Jennifer, who is a nurse as well as holding a master’s degree in bioethics, rushed over and quickly gave mouth-to-mouth. The woman revived, coughed, and asked, “What happened?” She was soon taken to the hospital by paramedics.
So, a life was saved, and the restaurant gave the Lahls dinner on the house. Who says good deeds don’t pay?
Way to go, Jennifer!
