Here’s my thought, following the lead of probably the second smartest citizen of Georgia of all time: Secession was stupid. In general, I’ll be following the events of that war with a focus on (the lack of) southern statesmanship. I will also have lots to say about Alexander Stephens, one of the most brilliant citizens of Georgia ever.
