After Paris, our band of merry travelers rented a car and drove 7 hours south to Gascony. We spent the day today driving and seeing castles and reveling in the breathtaking beauty that is the south of France—with the most amazing fields of sunflowers stretching as far as the eye could see.
Here are a few shots. The insect in the last photo is a Hummingbird Hawkmoth. Amazing. It looks like a mini humming bird, flies like one in starts and stops, and hovers with wings whirring. It was quite a surprising discovery.
