Die Rappende Professoren

As a law school professor in Cologne, what do you do when your students can’t seem to remember paragraph 823 of the civil-law code? If you’re Klaus Peter Berger, you set it to music and rap about it . My favorite couplet has to be:

Für den Zurechnungszusammenhang
kommt es dann auf den Schutzbereich an

A twenty-three letter word worked into a rap about law? Wow. My respect for the German language grows everyday.

And it gets better. Tim Drygala, another German law school professor, isn’t happy with Herr Berger’s rhymes and has laid down a few of his own:

Lieber Kollege, Ihr Rap ist zu banal,
er verfehlt die Probleme doch fatal.

Make sure to listen to the nerdy thing yourself.
