Virtue and the Logic of Liberty

There’s also a quick and eloquent summary of the Lee Ward “personal identity Locke” (which I also endorsed) by, of course, Lee Ward. My brief talk is a on why “Lockean narrative” of American history can explain why the road to serfdom never gets to serfdom.

Also: Hadley Arkes is just getting bolder and more original in his thinking. Someone might say he’s trying to replace constitutional law with “moral reasoning,” which would only be good if judges were philosophers as wise as Hadley. Hadley, of course, might now be the best performer around these days in political science.
