Trump for Women

On Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.” It requires the federal government “to rescind all funds from educational programs that deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities, which results in the endangerment, humiliation, and silencing of women and girls and deprives them of privacy.” It was a jubilant day for those who spent years fighting in the trenches to protect women athletes from the encroachment of transgender ideology in sports—many of whom were present at the signing.

Trump’s actions comport with biology, common sense, the Constitution, and overwhelming public opinion. This order also acknowledges the fundamental Christian belief from Genesis that God created us male and female.

Trump’s order states that it “shall also be the policy of the United States to oppose male competitive participation in women’s sports more broadly, as a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth.” The EO follows Trump’s “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism” order, signed on the first day of his second term, which defined “male” and “female” as the only two and separate—as in,  not changeable—sexes recognized by the federal government.

Despite claiming otherwise for decades, leftist activists don’t care about the bodily safety and autonomy of women. The popular embrace of transgender ideology by the left exposes their complete unmooring from biological reality.

The left doesn’t care that women can be beaten to a pulp by men. On Wednesday, Trump referenced the case of Angela Carini, the Italian champion female boxer who dropped out of her match during the Paris Olympics in just forty-six seconds. She worried she would be killed or permanently injured by her opponent, Imane Khelif, a male. “Men claiming to be girls have stolen more than 3,500 victories and invaded more than 11,000 competitions designed for women,” Trump said.

The left can’t define what a woman is. Because they’re unable to define it, they can’t truly defend women. The Washington Post called the order “the latest salvo in President Donald Trump’s attack on transgender rights, another that will ricochet through schools across the country, as the president delivers on another contentious culture war promise.” It is a telling response: By describing this as “an attack on transgender rights,” the Post ignores how woke ideology completely undermines women’s rights. While in office, Biden attempted to illegally rewrite Title IX, the landmark law signed by President Richard Nixon to ensure equal protection for women and girls’ sports.

Biden and his allies threatened women and girls’ safety nationwide, but Trump’s order, contrary to the Post’s claims, is not contentious; it’s overwhelmingly popular. For example, CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski reported 79 percent of Americans oppose transgender athletes in female sports, including 67 percent of Democrats.

Case law under the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection clause recognizes inherent differences between men and women. Thus, precedents recognize that to ensure equal protection under the law, men and women sometimes must be treated distinctly. Trump preserved the Constitution through this order.

Over the past four years, gender ideology has infiltrated schools, media, Hollywood, and academia, distorting our language with Orwellian terms such as “pregnant person,” “chest feeders,” “bleeders,” and forced use of pronouns.

In my city of Arlington, Virginia, Washington and Liberty High School finally removed an individual with a sex crime history who was claiming to be female and was repeatedly exposing himself in the girls’ locker room. In Loudoun County, also in my home state of Virginia, a boy wearing a skirt exploited transgender policies and sexually assaulted a girl in the bathroom. Tragically, due to lax school policies, he assaulted a second one.

Gender ideologues sacrificed women’s rights to single-sex spaces, opportunities, and privacy on the altar of radical “inclusion.” The pernicious creation of “gender ideology” underpinning this effort to erase women came through “critical gender theory.” It falls under a broader critical theory created by German Marxists at the Frankfurt School in 1923.

It’s a sad twenty-first-century reality that America must explicitly keep men out of women’s sports. The lie that sex is fluid erases and endangers women. Trump’s order on Wednesday was a resounding victory for truth.

But we cannot get complacent. An executive order can be rolled back and doesn’t guarantee long-term change. We need permanent legislation, such as H.R. 28, the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025.” The law passed the House last month and is currently pending in the Senate. Our legislators ought to show the same courage as many of our American female athletes, who risked their careers by speaking the truth.
