The Notre Dame Fund to Protect Human Life

There’s a new fund, established at Notre Dame, under the Center for Ethics and Culture, called “The Notre Dame Fund to Protect Human Life.” It’s a little hard to find through the man pages of the Notre Dame website—and why, exactly, is that? why isn’t the school blazoning this to the heavens?—so here’s a direct link to the fund’s description .

The purpose of the fund is to support pro-life activities for the university and for Notre Dame students outside the university. The description notes, “For purposes of this Fund, the phrase ‘human life’ solely concerns human life in its earliest stages, from conception to the early days of infancy. While the sanctity of human life ought to be protected in all stages, these beginning stages are particularly vulnerable ones in our contemporary culture, and represent points at which human dignity and human life are subject to the most egregious attacks.”

If you give to Notre Dame, you might consider targeting this year’s gift directly to this fund. It still counts as a gift to the university, but it promotes one of the activities at which Notre Dame could be the best.
