The Looming Demographic Demise of Secularism

You’ve probably heard this argument before, but that’s no reason not to repeat it: the more traditional and orthodox the believers, the more children they’re likely to have. Conversely, the closer to the atheistic end of the spectrum people are, the fewer children they’re likely to have. What’s more, there’s some evidence that the children of traditionalistic believers are less likely to abandon the faith of their parents than are, say, those in the mainstream. And, finally, defections from traditionalist to modernist faiths are apparently more than offset by movement in the other direction.

Apparently, the religious (some of whom may be none too meek) may well inherit the earth .

More when I get my hands on a copy of the book.
