The more states join the suits against Obamacare, the more pressure on the administration—and the stronger the sense of the suit among the public and in the courts. (Yes, it is true: Courts follow the election returns.) The total number of states that have sued to have parts of Obamacare declared unconstitutional has risen to a majority—36. From the story:
Six more states are joining Florida’s federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of health care reform. With the addition of Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, Wyoming, Wisconsin and Maine, 26 states are now challenging the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law by President Barack Obama in March.
It is not healthy for the country to have such a divisive law on the books. Time for POTUS to return to the negotiating table. Right, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will convert to Judaism.
Sarcasm aside, I am hopeful the majority will prevail in this situation and Obamacare will go down as it is now constituted. Hopefully, it will be replaced by something better—which wouldn’t be hard.
