This was not supposed to happen. When Obamacare was rammed down the throats of the American people, proponents assured us that we didn’t know what was good for us, and moreover, that once we found out what really is in the new law, our adamant opposition would reverse in the polls. In fact, the opposite seems to be true. Indeed, support for repealing Obamacare has risen in the latest Rasmussen finds to 58% from 54% of those polled (likely voters). Meanwhile, opposition to repeal has fallen. From the story:
Three weeks after Congress passed its new national health care plan, support for repeal of the measure has risen four points to 58%. That includes 50% of U.S. voters who strongly favor repeal. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters nationwide finds 38% still oppose repeal, including 32% who strongly oppose it. For the previous two weeks following passage of the controversial plan, 54% of voters have favored repeal and 42% have opposed it.
The American people did not object to the passage of this law because they didn’t know what was in it, but because they did. And the more they learn, the less they like.
Repeal. Reform. Replace. Defund.
