I already have a First Things subscription. How can I login?
If you already have an active subscription to First Things, but you are not able to login, please click here to reset your password.
How do I change my mailing address?
To change the mailing address where you want us to send your First Things magazine, please go to your Profile and select “Manage my subscription”. Please follow the prompts to change your shipping address.
How do I change my account email address?
To change your email address, please go to your Profile and change your email in the email field under “Your Profile”. Select “Save Profile Changes” to update the email.
How do I reset my password?
If you are logged in, please go to your Profile and enter a new password in the new password field under “Your Profile”. Re-enter the password in new password field below and select “Save Profile Changes” to finish updating your password.
If you cannot log in or do not remember your password, please click here to reset your password.
How do I subscribe?
To subscribe to First Things, please visit the Subscribe Page and select a subscription option.
You will first be instructed to create your online account or login to your existing account. Select “Checkout” to complete your subscription with your payment.
If you have a coupon, please enter it in the coupon field.
How do I update my payment information?
To update your payment information, please visit your Profile and follow the steps below. You will need to login and have had an active subscription.
- On your profile page, select “Manage Subscription”
- In the popup, select “Payment Method” and then select the card you would like to update
- Select “Edit Payment Method”, make edits to the fields you would like to update, and select “Update” to save.
How do I renew my subscription?
Your subscription will renew automatically unless you subscribed by phone or mail and made an offline payment (check). If you made an offline payment, please enter your payment information online to renew and begin renewing automatically.
To renew your subscription online, please visit your Profile and select “Manage my subscription”. Follow prompts to enter your credit card information and pay for your future subscription term that will begin automatically after the current term ends.
If you do not see “Manage my subscription”, then you do not have an active First Things subscription. Please visit our Subscribe page and choose a subscription option.
To renew by mail, please send checks to our subscriptions office. Please do not mail your credit card information.

When will my print magazine arrive?
Content and Access
Link my subscription to the First Things app
If you have our First Things iOS app and did not purchase a subscription through the Apple Store, you may access the app content with your active First Things subscription.
- Open the app, go to “Settings,” then select “Activate Subscription”.
- Use one of the three subscription verification methods using the the information you used to subscribe to First Things (Account & Zip code, Email & Zip code, or Mailing Address).
- Once your subscription is verified, you can create an app account with a username and password specific to the First Things app.
Listen to an article
You can listen to some of the articles on our website either on your commute or sitting comfortably at home.
Select “Listen” at the top of the article under the title or at the end of the article. The audio version will immediately begin.
To start again from the beginning, simply refresh the page in your mobile or web browser.
Watch past events
You can watch recordings of many past events by visiting our Events page. You can browse for events and select the video link available for a past event. You can also find many recordings directly by navigating to our Youtube channel.
Supported browsers
firstthings.com is supported on all common browsers. For security and stability, we recommend that you use the desktop, iOS, and Android versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Firefox, or Opera.
Subscription options
Student subscription plan
Subscriptions are available to students at a discounted price. Please visit our Student subscription page to request one. You will need a picture or scan of a valid student ID.
Subscriptions for my institution or group
We do not offer institutional or gift subscriptions at this time.
Share a gift subscription
To purchase a gift subscription, please go to our Subscribe page and select “Give First Things” under Gift Subscriptions, towards the bottom of the page.
Start or redeem my gift subscription
To redeem your First Things gift subscription, please follow the link you received in your gift subscription email notification, or login and visit the redeem page.
What do I do if I am subscribed to First Things but was given a gift subscription?
If you have an active First Things subscription that you purchased and you were also given a First Things subscription, you will automatically not be charged for as many terms as your gift subscription covers.
Account
Reset my firstthings.com password
If you are logged in, please go to your Profile and enter a new password in the new password field under “Your Profile”. Re-enter the password in new password field below and select “Save Profile Changes” to finish updating your password.
If you cannot log in or do not remember your password, please click here to reset your password.
Change or edit my account email
To change the email address associated with your First Things account, please go to your Profile page. Please change your email in the email field under “Your Profile.” Select “Save Profile Changes” to update the email.
Edit my profile
To edit your profile, please go to your Profile page and change your desired information in the fields under “Your Profile.” When you are finished, select “Save Profile Changes.”
Subscription Management
Renew my gift subscription
First Things does not renew gift subscriptions at this time.
Change address
To change the mailing address for your First Things print editions, please go to your Profile page and select “Manage my subscription.” Please follow the prompts there to change your shipping address.
Renew my print subscription
To renew your print subscription, please visit your Profile page, select “Manage my subscription,” and follow the prompts there to renew your subscription.
If you do not see “Manage my subscription,” then you do not have an active First Things subscription. To subscribe, please visit our Subscribe page and choose a subscription option.
Cancel subscription
If you want to change your subscription plan rather than cancel, please visit your Profile page and select “Manage my subscription.” Follow the prompts there to change your subscription option.
To cancel your subscription, please visit your Profile page and select “Manage my subscription.” Please follow the prompts to cancel your subscription immediately or at the end of the billing cycle (non-renewal of subscription).
If you do not see “Manage my subscription,” then you do not have an active First Things subscription.

Change my subscription plan
If you want to change your subscription plan, please visit your Profile and select “Manage my subscription”. Follow prompts to change your subscription option.
Change my payment information
To update your payment information, please visit your Profile and select “Manage my subscription”. Follow prompts to update you debit/credit card information.
Inquire about a credit card charge
To inquire about an charge you don’t recognize in your bank or credit card statement, please visit your Profile and select “Manage my subscription”. Here you can find any historical invoices to verify the payment charged to your card.
Manage my auto-renew preferences
All subscribers are automatically set to auto-renew. If you would like to end your subscription at the end of your current subscription term, please visit your Profile and select “Manage my subscription”. Follow prompts to cancel your subscription at the end of the billing term.
When can I expect my first issue of First Things?
I did not receive my print issue. How can I request a replacement?
If you have an active subscription to the print magazine issue, please call customer support at (877) 905-9920 during normal business hours. If you are in Canada, please call our (903) 636-4306.
Can I order a single issue of the current magazine or from the magazine archive?
Yes, you can order back issues from our store.
