So without descending to the drudgery of linking, I can report that the conventional wisdom is that Herman is an absolutely implausible nominee. Nobody without political or military experience ever gets a presidential nomination. And the 9-9-9 thing can’t withstand close scrutiny. Cain is a placeholder until the real candidate emerges to take out Romney.
But who will that be, exactly?
And my social science research through the method of casual interview here in Rome, GA may suggest otherwise. The average white guy in Georgia loves Cain and is glad to be rid of Perry. One fine guy recommended to me the Cain-Romney ticket, an invigorating blend of inspiration and expertise.
It would be hard not to admire the DIVERSITY of that combination of an African American and a Mormon.
