A Daily Reading Plan for Shakespeare’s Works

A couple of years ago, having twice gone through the Bible on daily reading plans, I wanted to tackle Shakespeare’s complete works with similar discipline. Unfortunately, after searching high and low, I could find no daily reading plan for Shakespeare. So I created one, and read all the works in 2013—even the plays Shakespeare c0-authored—in less than half an hour a day. You can do it too, if you like. I’ve updated the plan for 2015—the update being necessary because the plan switches from plays on weekdays to poems on weekends—and you can find it below. It is based on the Oxford Shakespeare (second edition), and generally follows the chronological order of the plays given in that edition, with a little deviation for some of the early history plays to align them with English history. King Lear appears twice in this edition; the plan includes only the later version.
