The air of superiority in among the global warming hysterics tells me, at least, that we should not follow them into the potentially anti-human, unprosperous, and far less free future into which they wish to take us. Latest example, our own Secretary of Energy, who has called us “teenagers” who refuse to behave like our parents tell us. From the story:
When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons.
Speaking on the sidelines of a smart grid conference in Washington, Dr. Chu said he didn’t think average folks had the know-how or will to to change their behavior enough to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. “The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act,” Dr. Chu said. “The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.” (In that case, the Energy Department has a few renegade teens of its own.)
The administration aims to teach them—literally. The Environmental Protection Agency is focusing on real children. Partnering with the Parent Teacher Organization, the agency earlier this month launched a cross-country tour of 6,000 schools to teach students about climate change and energy efficiency.
Yea, I’ll bet that presentation will be balanced and measured. I wonder if they will tell the kids that there may have actually been a slight cooling since 1998? I doubt it: Remember, these hysterics peddle in fear. Indeed, they have so scared our children that one in three worry that they will see the end of the world. From the story:
Has all of the attention on saving the planet these days actually created more anxiety about the state of the Earth for our children? Perhaps. A new survey finds that one out of three children ages 6-11 years old fear that the planet won’t exist when they grow up and more than half (56%) believe that the Earth will not be as good a place to live. Minority children worried the most – with 75% of Black children and 65% of Hispanicchildren fearing the planet was going to deteriorate before they grew up.
