Christ is the new creation. In Him, the church is the new creation. To wit:
She is light in the world. Day 1.
She is the firmanent boundary and mediator between heaven and earth. Day 2.
She is the fruitful land in the midst of the sea, the place where land and sea, Jew and Gentile, meet. Day 3.
She is a moon to the Sun of righteousness; her children shine like stars in the sky. Day 4.
She is a swarm, a cloud, a garment of glory around her Lord. Day 5.
She is new Eve, her Husband’s garden. Day 6.
She is the place of Sabbath feasting, rest, enthronement, and judgment. Day 7.
No doubt there is a sequence here too: To be firmament, she must be light; to become fruitful, she must stand between heaven and earth; to shine like stars she must be fruitful; she is a cloud of glory insofar as she rules from heaven; she is new Eve insofar as she is the glory of the True Man; she enters Sabbath by clinging to her Bridegroom.
