Last month, I posted the welcome news that Stanford has started the nation’s first law school clinic focusing on religious liberty . This week, at CLR Forum , the blog of the St. John’s Center for Law and Religion , the new clinic’s director, Jim Sonne, answers a few questions about the project. Among other things, Jim discusses the clinic’s background, the sort of cases and clients it hopes to attract, the reception the clinic has received at Stanford, and the difference between a “religious liberty” and a “religion” clinic. You can access the interview here .

Mark Movsesian is Director of the Center for Law and Religion at St. John’s University.

Dear Reader,

You have a decision to make: double or nothing.

For this week only, a generous supporter has offered to fully match all new and increased donations to First Things up to $60,000.

In other words, your gift of $50 unlocks $100 for First Things, your gift of $100 unlocks $200, and so on, up to a total of $120,000. But if you don’t give, nothing.

So what will it be, dear reader: double, or nothing?

Make your year-end gift go twice as far for First Things by giving now.
