1. I don’t think the ABC story on Gingrich’s second ex-wife hurts him. No one on Earth is voting for Gingrich because they think he is a good husband (with the possible exception of the most recent Mrs. Gingrich.)
2. Gingrich’s current line is that people shouldn’t listen to any of the horrible stuff that people say about him. The ABC story maybe helps him becomes it prevents attention from going back to Freddie Mac, health insurance mandates, etc.
3. Under the Gingrich plan, Romney’s tax liabilities are 15%. Since Gingrich eliminates the capital gains tax, Romney’s capital gains liabilities go down to 0%. Ginrich knows this when he says that his tax plan would lower people’s taxes down to Romney’s. When Gingrich talks, I usually picture this.
4. The Gingrich bubble will burst. Again. It will take some time and critical scrutiny, but it will happen. Again.
5. If Santorum hangs in, he will probably get another run as the hot anti-Romney.
6. This race is a nightmare.
