In today’s On the Square feature, Fr. Raymond J. de Souza reflects on the twentieth anniversary of the ordination of Fr. Neuhaus :
Last night, Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York invited friends and colleagues of Father Neuhaus to Dunwoodie for the Mass inaugurating the new seminary year, falling as it did on the eve of the twentieth anniversary of his ordination in the same chapel. Addressing the seminarians and the faculty on the importance of the interior life, Archbishop Dolan took as his inspiration a verse from the assigned reading of the day: your life is hidden with Christ in God .
Also today, Jana Novak explains what she learned by moving to the a remote area in the mountains :
A little more than a year ago now, I decided to drop off the grid. I had been making a long slow escape from my previous life of working in politics, and I had finally truly crossed the Rubicon: I bought a cabin high up in the mountains of Colorado, hidden in the woods, beyond a locked Forest Service gate, and down a steep dirt road. I originally looked at it as simply the culmination of a dreama single-family home in the middle of the forest on a stream. After this past year, I now understand it was all about educating myself.
