We took the best horseback ride on Tuesday! Icelandic horses are smaller than their American cousins, but boy are they game! And they have a slow trot unlike any other horse, in which both legs on both sides move at the same time. We walked/trotted out a couple of miles, and then, after giving the horses a breather, the tour guide trotted/galloped us all home. My horse, Indiana Jones, was so full of energy I had to hold him from breaking into a full run. We rode those horses, didn’t just sit on them.
At least they were happy slaves. Afterwards, a few came up to give me a friendly nuzzle and receive some head scratching:
