In the 1992 Supreme Court case, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Justice Kennedy gave a definition of liberty: “At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life.” What are the origins of this definition? Was there a Constitutional Morality at the time of the Founding that helps answer this question? In celebration of Constitution Day, three panelists will offer different responses to these questions.
