Former Governor Richard Lamm fell into the soup years ago when he claimed that the elderly infirm and dying had a duty to die. Lamm claimed to have been misunderstood. But maybe he wasn’t. Lamm has come out passionately for health care rationing, stating in his Huffington Post piece :
It is my passionate belief that we can all have better health care through rationing.
That’s nonsensical on its face. “We all” won’t “have better health care” since those being rationed out won’t be getting health care at all, except of the palliative kind.
It is worth noting that Lamm’s views are widely supported within the bioethics movement, whose members would be appointed to the various cost/benefit and best practices boards proposed by the various Obamacare bills, where they can be expected to impose their views on wider society through the bureaucratic process.
Lamm’s essay is just one more piece of evidence that Obamacare is rationed care. More details over at Secondhand Smoke .
