I tried to leave, but this came across my desk—an old November 22, 1998  interview with me that lasted over an hour, recorded in connection with the original publication of Forced Exit. David Emory begins discussing 60 Minutes preparing to show the video of Jack Kevorkian murdering Thomas Youk, which resulted in his conviction and imprisonment.  We also discuss assisted suicide more generally, food and fluids cases, human equality (this is before I began using the term “human exceptionalism”), German euthanasia during the Holocaust, Futile Care Theory, pain control, and all that jazz.

For those who need a fix of SHS-type discussion, hit this link and open up the audio.

I was so young then!
