Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church.
The Junior-High Sunday School Retreat.
Panacea Falls State Park.
Last weekend in April, 1978.
Where they had the drowned mouse in the shower drain? And we had to do square-dancing on Saturday night? And they sang that song about the river?
Yeah, that Junior-High Sunday School Retreat.
And you remember how, at the end of the weekend, they were going to give us all these wooden fish necklaces on leather thongs, so that wherever we went in the world, whatever we did, whatever walk of life we . . . uh, walked in, I guess . . . we could always look at that necklace and remember our special time with the Junior-High Sunday School at Panacea Falls?
And then you remember how at the last minute they misplaced the box with all the necklaces, so nobody ever got one?
Well, I found it.
