It’s sad when Jon Stewart on the Comedy Channel does the MSM’s job. Climategate is a huge and growing scandal, and yet many outlets continue to pretend it is just powdered sugar, while the NYT won’t even report what was in the e-mails based on “policy” (even though it linked directly to the stolen Sarah Palin e-mails). But Jon Stewart sees clearly that catastrophic has been done to the cause of global warming hysteria.
One caveat: Stewart is a leftist and so he tries to mitigate the damage by warning about the continuing risk of rising seas and dying polar bears. But polar bears have increased in recent decades and sea level has yet risen to a significant degree. The worst projection of flooding come from computer models where it is garbage in, garbage out. (And remember, 4000 years ago the San Francisco Bay was just another inland valley.)
But I quibble. That a leftist like Stewart hits Climategate shows it is not going away.
You have a decision to make: double or nothing.
For this week only, a generous supporter has offered to fully match all new and increased donations to First Things up to $60,000.
In other words, your gift of $50 unlocks $100 for First Things, your gift of $100 unlocks $200, and so on, up to a total of $120,000. But if you don’t give, nothing.
So what will it be, dear reader: double, or nothing?
Make your year-end gift go twice as far for First Things by giving now.
