A heads up: The Society of Catholic Social Scientists will be holding its twentieth annual convention on Friday and Saturday October 26th and 27th, in Uniondale, a community on the western end of Long Island. Among the speakers are our friend and advisory council member Robert P. George, the psychologist Paul Vitz, David Gregory, the Dorothy Day professor at St. John’s law school, and Archbishop-emeritus Edward Cardinal Egan. Here is a description of the conference .
I have been to one SCSS event, a conference by the local chapter, which I enjoyed a great deal. It mixed some longer substantive talks with several short talks from Catholic social scientists reporting on their findings, and interesting conversations with people there. This conference, being a national conference, should be even better.
