    Χριστός ανέστη εκ νεκρών,
    θανάτω θάνατον πατήσας,
    και τοις εν τοις μνήμασι,
    ζωὴν χαρισάμενος!

    Christ is risen from the dead,
    by death trampling down death,
    and giving life to those within the grave!
