“The behavior of our employee, as portrayed on the video, if accurate, violates PPCNJ policies, as well as our core values of protecting the welfare of minors and complying with the law, and appropriate action is being taken,”  Phyllis Kinsler, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey.

While personal agendas can overtake the mission of any organization, I’m left to wonder how this Planned Parenthood employee was able to become so comfortable so as to offer the kind of advice that she did to this “pimp” and “prostitute.” It wasn’t as if she was a random receptionist and this is the girl next door, she is the office manager. Even more chilling, she also was comfortable enough to recommend another employee that the “pimp,” “prostitute,” and the young girls could trust not to expose their enterprise. Sadly for these young girls, there would be no advocate for them at a facility that claims to have an interest in protecting the welfare of minors. Proof positive–Planned Parenthood is about perpetuating an agenda at the expense if its professed mission.

Their “core value of protecting the welfare of minors” applies only to minors who survive PP’s core mission—killing underage children by the thousands. There’s no protection of their welfare before they reach a certain age.

It’s been reported that PP reported the situation to the Feds in case it might legitimately be a case of international child trafficking.

The question that is then raised, is, did Amy immediately get fired upon her superiors hearing of the situation, BEFORE the video broke, in case it might legitimately be case of aiding and abetting child trafficking, obstructing justice, and medical malpractice?

If the answer to that question is no, that tells us everything we need to know.

What exactly is this agenda for which we now have proof?

Corruption exists in any large organization. It is rather silly to generalize that without more than a single example.

      *Knock on wood*

I don’t like a lot of the things Planned Parenthood stands for, but even I have to agree with that.

Oh, there are plenty of examples of corrupt ethics there–see comment 2.

I should note that I do agree: a single example of criminality, if that’s what this proves to be, does not mean the entire organization is violating U.S. or state criminal codes. If your definition of corruption is confined just to lawbreaking, then we have too small a sampling to indict all of Planned Parenthood; and you also have too small a definition of corruption.

So what about the agenda for which we now have “proof-positive”? What is this agenda?

It’s true that very large organizations, especially heavily subsidized ones, tend to lack additional accountability measures that are not necessary with smaller entities.

So the video is “proof positive” of Planned Parenthood’s agenda of aborting as many babies as possible?

Is that what people here think?

The objection that this was an isolated event cuts both ways. It happened to be recorded. Imagine what is often said and done when cameras aren’t rolling.

No. You’re putting words in our mouths. No one said “as many as possible.” I said “by the thousands.” No one said that information came from the video. It’s been out there for a long, long time already.

There have been several other similar situations where undercover people have shown that PP will bend or ignore rules, such as the need to report statutory rape, (see also here in order to keep a “customer.” Not to mention accepting funds clearly given with racist intent.

Why wouldn’t PP want as many abortions as possible? They have a vested interest, in that they get paid for it. Giving PP the benefit of the doubt about abortion is like giving the tobacco industry the benefit of the doubt about the health risks of smoking.

We won’t win the culture to the pro-life position by showing that PP has problems. If PP goes out of business, another abortion mill organization will take its place. Let’s stick to our platform: the pre-born are human persons who should not be killed. There’s no logical connection between the proposition “Planned Parenthood is organizational corrupt” and the proposition “Abortion is immoral and ought to be illegal.” Fallacies are fallacies even when committed for a good cause.

Sarah Flashing’s claim is that the video is “proof-positive” of a particular agenda on the part of Planned Parenthood. I’m still wondering what that agenda is supposed to be. Can anyone give it a clear articulation?

Moreover, I’d expect PP employees to be trained to be completely nonjudgmental about those who seek their “services.” Therefore, I wouldn’t expect this to be an isolated incident. Is PP really in the habit of screening which clients have good reasons rather than bad reasons for wanting an abortion?

Orthodoxdj — it doesn’t address the morality of abortion, you are correct. But it does work against some of the myths surrounding legal abortion — that it’s a “choice” made by “mature women” who are exercising “rights over their own bodies.”

Only, apparently, sometimes it’s actually the single visible option for 14 year old sex slaves whose pimps want to figure out how to keep them making money while they’re recovering from the abortion, and whose only apparent alternatives involve things like starvation, being reported as illegals, and probably physical attack, and for whom the idea of rights over their own bodies is a sick joke, if it occurs to them at all. And one of the major organizations attempting to perpetrate these myths of mature decision making and rational choice is also involved in cooperating with the sex traffickers in coercing children to allow themselves and their unborn children to be violated.

And sometimes, people need their illusions about something broken down before they’re able to fairly make a moral judgment about it. So it would seem that exposing the reality of what goes on would be useful in that respect.

Pentamom, at our child’s high school Planned Parenthood distributed little booklets that, among other things, made sure every kid (at least of high school age) not only knew they had a right to an abortion, but also knew that their right to abortion meant they had a right to lie to their mom and dad.

Because, as the booklet put it, “it’s your body”. Implication: it’s your body, and therefore your right to use it in whatever way you want, and if you know the legal guardians who are responsible for your well-being don’t like it?

I think this was part of “sex education”. (Needless? to say, I only know about the booklet because our child showed it to me)

Seems to me that’s what people mean when they use the word “agenda” – they’re actually out there drumming up business.

Pentamom makes good points. But it’s also important not to demonize everyone involved in PP, as this former Planned Parenthood voice, now pro-life, argues:

It ain’t over yet. From Richmond:

The pimp announces he is running a prostitution ring involving 14- and 15-year-old girls, some of whom aren’t from the U.S. The clinic worker advises how adept the clinic is at working a “judicial bypass process” for minor abortions, announcing “we’re pretty good at handling, if someone, you know, doesn’t want someone else to know.”

Something to watch for in terms of PP’s overall ethos:

      1. How many times did Live Action try these video exposés, posing as underage sex traffickers? Rumor is they have a lot more of the same still to come.
      2. On how many of those attempts did the PP office they were visiting report them to the police?

Now, I’m just guessing—I could be wrong—but it seems to me that If PP had reported Live Action to the police even once, they might have said so by now. Anybody think that’s an irresponsible guess?

Two videos so far. Not enough to constitute a broad sampling yet. But so far PP is 0 for 2. What will it be in the end—0 for ____ ?

      Gary Simmons

Tom, that seems a completely fair guess.
