All week long, Christians, myself included, have been pointing out one man’s foolishness, stupidity, and wickedness. Usually when we do that with respect to matters like religion, sexual morality, or abortion, there’s a chorus of complaints: “Who are you to judge?”
The question implies we’re not the kind of people who have a right to judge anyone. If so, we’ve really exceeded ourselves this time. We’ve poured out a torrent of condemnation on this man’s intentions and actions. But my Google search this morning came up empty. Same with a similar search on Bing. I can’t find anyone—not even one—who has asked, “who are you to judge Terry Jones?”
The silence is fascinating.
