Luthreans in this country have many avenues through which to help our Haitian brothers and sisters. I would like to remind you of the Kurt Marquart Fund, which recently expanded its protocol to include humanitarian aid and which is appealing for funds for our Haitian pastors and their congregations. Please go to the Kurt Marquart Fund website for further information as to how to donate. Every penny will go to our faithful pastors and their families and congregations, now while they are hungry, and later as they start to rebuild their lives.

One of my coworkers was in Port-au-Prince when the stuff hit the fan. He's been sending us updates about bodies in the streets, trying to rescue victims from the rubble, and people screaming for help. It is truly Hell on earth.
