I always enjoy your comments James, well said and a real encouragement when facing all the uncertainties of 2010; e.g. unemployment, housing crisis, health care reform, etc. In the midst of it, God is in control and he cares.

When I've taught on providence before, I've always handled it as an extension of creation. God created all things by his Word and through the word of his power all things hold together and continue to exist. A beautiful and comforting thought that God is not distant but involved and active. Thank you for that good, pastoral reminder! And happy new year.
