Props for the title! As Mr. Mator observed, often enemies of "evangelicalism" react not only against the culture's foolishness but against its central truths.

And as these folks have pointed out, every culture has its tacky side... http://pass-the-aura.xanga.com/715146828/annoying-art-and-music-files-atheist-kitsch/

There is enjoyment to be had in gloating over the predicted demise of one's enemy. And yet, the news of Christianity's death has been grossly exaggerated ever since that cross came down from Golgotha. (I say Christianity, not Evangelicalism, because the way I see it, most attacks on so-called "evangelicals" are really attacks on the gospel itself, which is the truly offensive thing to the world. They could tolerate our Testamints and our Amish romance novels if we would just get on our knees and bow to the Zeitgeist.)
