This also seems to fit nicely with the previous post on Christians, art, and beauty:

"Jack Chick" sounds like the name of a male cross-dresser. :-)

You just can't make this stuff up.

Chick Tracts! I remember those. The adults at my church were always tossing those things around like Pokemon cards. There's no way to describe them except with a newly invented word: Gosploitation.

My favorite Chick Tract is the one about Dungeons and Dragons: http://www.chick.com/READING/TRACTS/0046/0046_01.ASP

Excellent post. I was once fascinated by Chick tracts (I think I still have some in my desk!), but have long since left such things. I remember, as a kid, I received a Chick tract in something (I can't remember if it was on Halloween or some other time), but I don't remember giving it much thought. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit convicted me of sin and wrought redemption in my soul many years later--no thanks to Chick and co.!

Just to go on the record about this, one of the MASSIVE benefits of growing up Catholic was that I didn't see my first Chick tract until I was in college. It transforms the whole spectacle to a comedy.
