However I sense something of a discontinuity between the first three points and the last. Though the first three points are 'historical reality' and can be seen throughout evangelicalism, the fourth seems more like an ideal which we should strive after, but is (and has not) always been a characteristic of evangelicals. I would not dare to defend the claim that what distinguishes evangelicalism from either liberalism or Catholicism is humility. Thanks, a great statement of what it is to be evangelical.
