I used to write some articles for WORLD. I’m a journalist by trade, but more interested in philosophy and art than politics. WORLD is more of a news/politics venue, so I guess it was inevitable that I wouldn’t stick around. Gene’s column is always interesting, although too abbreviated to provide ample evidence for many of his propositions.

WORLD is an ok magazine, but I quit reading it a few years ago. Just never did much for me. I didn’t need a Christian version of TIME, and it just kind of bored me. The best columns in it were, and are, by Gene Edward Veith.

Yeah, they phased me out too and restructured the whole blog section.

I guess First Things is stuck with me now…as a commenter, at any rate.

This is like a family reunion with a bunch of relatives I’ve never actually met.

Hmmmm…..I was one of their “pastor bloggers” for several years. Then they phased it out. I think our posts got a tad too theological for their tastes, or too Lutheran, or too Calvinist, or too…take your pick.

I fixed my blog address….Joe may not remember me, but at one time we were fellow WORLD Mag bloggers.

I cut my teeth on blogging for WORLD, and managed to thoroughly ruin the Moveable Type blog platform they kindly provided.

Fortunately, I have learned to leave the techno-driving to others when it comes to blog templates.
