		<description>This hits on many of my frustrations as a Baptist pastor where the mindset is if we aren&#039;t growing we must be doing something wrong. 

That said, two things do seem to be missing from this post. One is that this work to grow the saints in doctrine and dogma, administering the means of grace and imparting sound biblical teaching, is for the purpose of &quot;equipping the saints for the work of ministry...&quot; (Eph 4:12) From there I would say the second thing missing in the post is the role of the church to coordinate and facilitate ministry efforts both within and without the church.

My work with my people is to grow them in Scripture and to guide them in reaching the lost, doing so in ways that communicate to culture without capitulating to culture, but also recognizing the results are not in our hands. We are called to be faithful, not to get numbers by any means possible.</description>
